We are out on Amloh Road in Mandi Gobind Garh. If you’re looking for us, we are right behind V D Kanda. The area is full of industrial shops and trucks moving metal back and forth all day. It’s a dusty place, and it gets quite hot near the machinery. We’ve been working out of this spot in Fatehgarh Sahib for some time now. The yard is usually filled with scrap and finished pieces waiting to be moved. You can hear the sound of metal clanking from the street. We don’t have a fancy office; it’s mostly just a desk and some chairs where we handle the paperwork. Most of our time is spent out on the floor or near the gate checking what comes in. The guys here have been doing this for years and they know the routine. It’s hard work, especially in the summer months when the sun hits the metal. We start early in the morning before the traffic on Amloh Road gets too bad. By afternoon, the whole place is humming with activity. There’s a tea stall not far from the entrance where everyone goes for a break. We handle a lot of different alloys and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. It’s a noisy, busy life here in the industrial belt, but it’s what we know. We just focus on getting the loads ready and the trucks out on time.
