Old Mate Cafe Hubli

We are located in the Shreeman Apartment building right on East Boring Canal Road. It’s a busy spot, and there is always something going on outside with the traffic and people walking by. The cafe isn't some giant chain; it’s just a place where we try to make a decent cup of coffee and some food. The kitchen is small, so it gets pretty warm in there during the lunch rush. We have a few tables and chairs that don't all match perfectly, but they are comfortable enough for a quick sit-down. You can hear the sounds from the street even when the door is shut. Some of the residents from the apartments upstairs come in regularly, so we know their usual orders by heart. We spend a lot of time cleaning counters and sweeping the floor because the dust from the canal road never seems to stop. It’s a lot of hard work standing on your feet all day, but we like the regulars. We don't have a big menu with fancy names. It’s just simple stuff that we know how to make well. Sometimes the milk delivery is late or the fridge makes a humming sound that we can't fix, but we just keep going. Even though we have Hubli in the name, this is where we are every day. It’s a local spot for local people.
