I work over at the Government Printing Press area in Sadhanakeri, Dharwad. Specifically, my spot is associated with the S O Sktallolli section. Being an assistant engineer here means dealing with a lot of machinery and maintenance stuff for the printing press. Dharwad is a nice town, and Sadhanakeri is a very well-known part of it. The press is a busy place, always filled with the sound of paper moving and the smell of ink. I have been here quite a bit, helping out where the technical side of things needs an extra hand. It is a government job, so there is a lot of routine to my day. My desk is usually covered in thick manuals and some random tools. I do not go in for anything flashy or modern. We have a set way of doing things here, and it works just fine for us. The building itself has that old, solid feel to it. You can tell it has been standing there for many years. People come and go, but the work stays pretty much the same every week. I usually take the bus or ride my bike into the press. It is a short commute from my house. Sometimes I am fixing a small part of a machine, other times I am just checking the numbers on a report. It is honest work. I like the people I work with; we have been a team for a long time now. We just get through the day together.
