Our work is tied to Bdk Engineering Industries on Gokul Road in Hubli, but you can find me at the Kamanakatti office in Dharwad. We are located right behind the Veerabhadreshwar Temple, sharing space with Pavan Agencies. It’s a busy industrial area and there’s always the sound of machinery or trucks moving nearby. My name is Gururaj Bidikar and I’ve been handling things here for quite some time. We deal with engineering parts and industrial supplies, which isn't exactly exciting work, but it’s necessary for the factories around here. The office is small and filled with catalogs and metal samples. It’s often dusty because of the constant traffic on the main road. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just us taking orders and making sure the right parts get to the right people. Working near the temple means we hear the bells in the morning, which is a nice break from the noise of the Gokul Road site. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers and checking inventory. It’s a lot of manual tracking and writing things down in big ledgers. People come in looking for specific valves or fittings and we have to dig through the back to find them. It’s honest, gritty work that keeps the local industry moving. We don't do anything fancy, just supply the parts that keep the big machines running in the Hubli-Dharwad belt.
