Purana Bazar is one of those places that feels like it hasn't changed in thirty years. Our business is right there on P C Main Road. It’s a busy, dusty street with lots of shops squeezed together. R. L. Singh isn't a big corporation; it’s more of a personal effort. The shop is small and full of things. We have stuff tucked into corners and piled up on shelves that reach almost to the ceiling. It’s not the easiest place to move around in, but we know exactly where everything is. The fans overhead hum all day to keep the heat away, though it still gets pretty warm in the afternoons. We see a lot of regular faces because people in this part of town tend to stick to the shops they know. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting area. If you come in, you just talk to whoever is standing there. We spend a lot of time just chatting with neighbors or drinking a quick cup of tea between chores. It’s an old-school way of doing business, where your word matters more than a fancy contract. We don't use much technology besides the basics. It’s just a simple shop on a busy main road, and we’re fine with that. It’s been home for a long time, and we like the rhythm of the market.
