Lafarge

Working out of Quarter No. Sk4-154 in Sindri is a bit unique. Since this is an industrial and mining area near Dhanbad, the atmosphere is very different from a big city office. We’re right here in the heart of it, and our office is basically part of the local housing quarters. It’s a practical setup for Lafarge because we are close to the people we work with every day. The office is small and usually a bit cluttered with documents and site reports. We don't have a big sign out front or a fancy entrance. People just know where we are. Our days are spent tracking shipments and dealing with the local logistics that come with being in a place like 828122. It can be a bit dusty, and the weather gets pretty extreme, but we just get on with it. We don’t use any corporate jargon or have long meetings about "strategy." Instead, we just talk about what needs to be moved and who needs what material by tomorrow. It’s a very hands-on way of working. Most of us live nearby, so the commute is just a short walk or a quick ride. We know the neighbors and the local shops, and that makes the work feel a bit more like part of the community. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s important work for the region, and we take it seriously in our own quiet way.
