Little Flower School

Little Flower School is right there in Salempur, which is part of the Deoria district. It’s a small town school and it feels like one. We have a simple building with a gate that leads into a small courtyard. This is where the kids gather for their morning assembly. It’s usually a bit dusty because the ground is just earth, not paved. We have several classrooms that are quite basic. The benches are old and you can see where generations of kids have carved their names. We use chalk and blackboards for most of our teaching. There aren't many computers around here. The teachers are mostly local people who have been with us for a long time. We know the parents and we know most of the families in the area. In the winters, it gets quite cold in the mornings, so the kids come in their heavy sweaters. We don't have fancy heating or anything, so everyone just bundles up. It’s a very quiet and humble place. We don't have a big website or a marketing person to tell everyone how great we are. We just focus on teaching the children their basics so they can move on to high school later. It is a local community effort and we just try to keep things running smoothly every day. It’s a plain and simple school for the children of Salempur.
