Saint Xaviers School

Living and working out here in Salempur on Saint Xaviers Road means you get used to a certain pace of life. Deoria isn't a huge city, so everyone kind of knows the landmarks. Our school is one of those spots. In the early morning, the sun hits the front of the building and everything feels quiet for a few minutes before the buses arrive. We have a lot of students coming in from different parts of the district. Some days are more chaotic than others, especially when there’s rain and the road gets a bit messy. Inside, the walls have been painted a few times over the years, and there are always posters or charts taped up that the kids made. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. It’s mostly just desks, blackboards, and a lot of talking. During lunch, the playground gets loud, which is to be expected. The staff stays busy with paperwork or grading in between classes. It’s a lot of work keeping everything running smoothly, from the front gate to the back rooms. We don’t really do anything flashy. It’s just about getting the lessons done and making sure everyone is where they should be. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to open the windows and keep going. That’s just how it is here in this part of town.
