Madhusthali Vidyapeeth

Living and working in Madhupur is a bit different than the big cities. Out here in Deoghar district, things move a little slower. Madhusthali Vidyapeeth sits on a decent piece of land. We have plenty of trees, which really helps when the Jharkhand heat starts to pick up in May. You can hear the birds in the morning before the first bell rings. Most of us have been here for years, so we know the families in the area pretty well. It is a quiet spot, away from the main town noise. The air feels cleaner here. We spend our days mostly in the classrooms or out on the field. Sometimes the monkeys come by and we have to make sure they do not get into the lunch boxes. It makes the kids laugh, though. We have a routine that works for us. It is not about being the flashiest place around, but about having a solid roof and a place for the children to sit and learn their lessons. Winters get surprisingly cold, so everyone comes wrapped in sweaters and mufflers. We drink a lot of tea in the office during those months. The local station is not too far, so we see people coming and going. It feels like a small community inside the walls. We just keep our heads down and get through the syllabus. It is a simple life in a quiet part of the country.
