Jasidih B.Ed College is located in Dabar Gram, over in the Deoghar district of Jharkhand. If you’re heading toward the Deoghar Head Office, you’re in the right general area. It’s a place specifically for people who want to become teachers, so the atmosphere is a bit more serious than a primary school. The building is functional and stands out a bit in the Dabar Gram area. We have students coming from all over Jharkhand, and they often stay in the local housing nearby. The weather can get quite intense here, so we’re always checking the fans in the classrooms to make sure they’re still spinning. We spend our days going over lesson plans and talking about how to manage a classroom. It’s practical work, and we don’t spend much time on fancy decorations or fluff. The office is usually a bit cluttered with files and application forms, as there is always a lot of paperwork to keep up with. We have a small courtyard where people sit during their free time. It’s not a five-star facility, but it’s where the work gets done. Most of the staff has been here for years, and we’ve seen a lot of different faces pass through our doors. We just keep the gates open and follow the curriculum, making sure the future teachers are ready for their own jobs.
