Star Printer is located near Ambedkar Park in Shahdara. It’s a place that always smells like ink and paper. We have the big machines running most of the day, and they make a rhythmic sort of noise that you just get used to after a while. Sometimes the rhythm breaks when a paper jams, and then we have to get in there and sort it out. It’s a bit of a messy job, your hands usually end up with some ink on them by the end of the shift. We do all sorts of printing, whatever the people in Shahdara need. We have stacks of paper everywhere and samples of work we’ve done. It’s not a showroom; it’s a workshop. People come in with their files, and we see what we can do. The shop gets a bit cramped when we have a big order to finish, but we make it work. We’ve got a couple of fans to keep the air moving because the machines give off a bit of heat. Ambedkar Park is a nice landmark nearby. We aren't a giant corporate printing house. We’re just a local shop where we know how to handle the machines and the paper. It’s practical, everyday work, and we take it as it comes. Usually, there is a pile of scrap paper that the neighborhood kids use for drawing. It is just a normal, busy shop trying to get things done. We keep things moving along.
