You can find Sarvottam Colours & Chemicals over in Kirti Nagar I at 137. Being in this part of Delhi means we are right in the middle of all the furniture and industrial shops. Our place is usually filled with the smell of different pigments and chemicals, which I’ve grown to actually like over the years. The floor has various stains of blue, red, and yellow from spills that happened years ago. It gives the place a bit of character, I think. We mostly supply to the local workshops that need specific dyes or powders for their products. I spend a lot of time on the phone or checking the bags of stock we have on the shelves. It’s not a very quiet job because there’s always someone unloading a truck outside or a neighbor shouting a greeting. My cousin helps me run the place and we usually have tea together around four o'clock. The office area is just a small partitioned space with a computer that’s a bit slow and a lot of notebooks. People sometimes have a hard time finding us because the lanes in Kirti Nagar are so narrow and confusing. We don't have a big fancy sign, just the company name painted on the metal door. It’s a straightforward business and we don’t try to make it seem like more than it is. We stay busy enough just keeping up with the daily orders.
