Tilak Bazar is a place you have to see to understand. It’s full of history and very narrow streets. Our place, R S M Dyechem Pvt Ltd, is at 998 Teliwara, inside Telian Gali. If you are walking down the lane, you’ll see our door right there at number 998. It’s a bit of a maze getting here with all the handcarts and people carrying heavy loads on their heads. We deal with dyes and chemicals, so there’s often a specific smell in the air around the shop. It’s not a bad smell, just what you expect in this trade. The building is old, like most things in Teliwara, but it’s sturdy. We keep the ledger books on a high shelf so they stay dry. Every day is a struggle with the traffic in Telian Gali, but we are used to it by now. We know the other shopkeepers and we all say hello in the mornings. There’s a lot of paperwork to keep track of because of the business name being a private limited, but we just take it one page at a time. I usually bring my lunch from home and eat it at the back of the shop. It’s quiet back there away from the noise of Tilak Bazar. We aren't trying to be anything big, just keeping the business running at 998.
