Our office is tucked into the Rang Rasayan apartments in Rohini Sector 13. It is a bit of a quiet residential area, so you wouldn’t think a business is running from here unless you saw the small sign we put up. We spend most of our time dealing with samples and checking files at the desks. The 10B/66 unit isn’t huge, so things get a bit crowded when new stock arrives. We have a couple of old chairs for guests, but mostly it's just us working through the piles of paper. The windows look out over the parking lot and some trees that get dusty in the summer. In the afternoons, you can hear kids playing outside after school. Delhi can be very noisy, but this part of Rohini stays relatively calm compared to the main markets. We use a lot of light in the rooms because the apartment can get a bit dark in the corners even during the day. The tea guy comes by around four and that’s usually the highlight of our workday. We deal with colours and materials every day, so there are always swatches lying around on the floor or taped to the walls. It’s a bit messy, but we know where everything is kept. People usually call us before coming over because the security guard at the gate asks a lot of questions. We just keep our heads down and get the work done.
