Sarvottam Colour & Chemicals

We are Sarvottam Colour & Chemicals over in Kirti Nagar at number 137 in block 4. The shop usually smells like paint and thinners, which I don't even notice anymore. We have a lot of containers stacked up against the walls. It’s mostly just us helping people pick out the right shade or the specific chemical they need for a job. The floor has a few stains from spills over the years, but it’s a working shop, so it doesn't really matter. We open up early because that's when the painters like to pick up their supplies before starting their work day. My hands are usually a bit stained by lunch time. We have a small stool for customers to sit on if they have to wait for us to mix something. It’s not a very quiet place since there is always some construction or loading happening on the street outside. We keep a ledger on the counter to track what goes out. Sometimes the delivery guys bring the wrong size drums and we have to sort it out right there on the sidewalk. It’s just regular daily stuff here. We’ve known the neighbors for years and sometimes they drop by just to chat for a minute. If you need something for a project, we probably have a tin of it somewhere in the back room or on the high shelves. I usually spend the last hour of the day just wiping down the counters and lids. It's a bit messy but that's the business.
