Lohiya Marble House

Lohiya Marble House is situated at Plot No. A/94/3 on the Main Road in Jagat Puri. It’s hard to miss because we have quite a bit of stone sitting out. We’ve been at this spot for quite some time now. The main road is always busy, so there’s constant noise from the cars and bikes passing by. We sell marbles and other stones for floors and counters. It’s heavy work, moving those slabs around. We have a couple of guys who help with the loading and unloading. Most of our customers are locals from Jagat Puri or nearby areas who are building or fixing their homes. They usually come in with their contractors to look at the different colors. We have a lot of white marble, but also some darker shades. It gets really hot in the summer because of the open space, but we’re used to it. We keep a ledger for all the sales and it’s mostly manual work. We don’t use any fancy computers for the inventory. We just look at what’s in the yard and we know what we have. It’s a straightforward business. We try to be helpful when people ask questions about which stone lasts longer. My father started this place, and I’ve been here since I was a kid. It hasn’t changed much over the years, just more traffic outside.
