Gauri Shankar Marble

Gauri Shankar Marble is right in the middle of the Mangol Puri marble market. Specifically, we are at Plot No.70/1/2, near Guru Gowalkar Marg. If you've ever been to this market, you know it's a crowded and busy place. There is stone everywhere. Our shop is just like the others in a way, filled with slabs leaning against the walls. We’ve been working here for years. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes with all the different lots. We handle mostly marble, and our day starts early when the trucks start rolling in. It's a lot of physical labor, shifting heavy pieces and making sure nothing cracks. We don't go in for big speeches. We just let the stone speak for itself. You can walk in and touch the surfaces, see the patterns, and decide what works for your house. The market gets quite dusty and noisy, but that's just part of the atmosphere here. We know most of the other shop owners around Guru Gowalkar Marg. It’s a community of stone workers. We keep things pretty informal. If someone needs a small piece or a whole floor's worth, we treat them the same. It's just about getting the right stone to the right person. No corporate manuals or fancy uniforms here. Just us and the marble, trying to make a living in Mangol Puri like everyone else. We stay busy from morning until we close the gates at night.
