Operating out of Asaf Ali Road near Kamla Market has its fair share of challenges, mostly because it’s so busy. Our place is at number 243, right in the heart of the action around Connaught Place. We handle road transport, which basically means a lot of coordination with trucks and drivers across different routes. The office itself is pretty basic, just some desks piled high with logbooks and the sound of phones ringing constantly. My father started this business years ago, and we’ve just kept it going the same way. It's a lot of manual work and tracking things down. Sometimes the weather is bad or a truck gets stuck in a long jam, and we have to spend hours on the phone trying to reroute everything. We don't have a fancy website or anyone doing PR for us. We just know the roads and how to get things from one point to another. The tea stall downstairs is where we take our breaks and talk about the day. It’s a noisy part of Delhi, but that’s where the business is, so we stay. We don't use big words or corporate talk. We just focus on getting the cargo where it needs to be without any extra fuss. Every day is a bit different depending on what we are hauling. There are always new problems to solve, but we just take them one at a time.
