Aadhunik Marbles

If you head over to the Dwarka Marble Market in Sector-20, you’ll find us at plot 41. Aadhunik Marbles is basically a yard full of heavy stone and dust. We spend most of our time moving slabs around and showing people the different patterns in the rock. It’s heavy work, and our clothes are usually covered in white powder by midday. People come in looking for flooring or something for their kitchen counters. We don't have a fancy air-conditioned lobby. You just walk in, and we look at the slabs together under the sun to see the real colors. It’s a practical setup. Some of the stone comes from far away, and some is local. We tell people that every piece is different, so they have to pick what they like right then. The market is always buzzing with trucks coming and going. We’ve been in this spot for a bit, and we know the other guys selling tiles and granite nearby. We don't do much talking; we just show the stock and help with the loading when someone makes a choice. It's a lot of physical labor, especially when the weather gets hot in Delhi. We keep a water cooler in the corner for anyone who stops by. It’s a simple business. We have the stone, people come buy it, and we move on to the next stack. That’s the daily routine for us here in Dwarka and it hasn't changed much lately.
