Shabad Trading Company

Our place, Shabad Trading Company, is on Plot No-356 along Haridwar Road in Rishikesh. We are right near the Ell Bee Hotel, which is a big landmark that helps people find us when they get lost. Being on Haridwar Road means there is a lot of dust and noise from the buses going by all day. We spend a lot of time sweeping the front area to keep the dirt away from the stock. It is a busy trading spot and there are always trucks pulling up or leaving. We don't have a lot of decorations in the office, just some old calendars on the wall and a few chairs for when people need to sit and wait. The phone rings a lot and it can be hard to hear over the sound of the traffic outside. In the summer, the heat in Rishikesh is really something, so we drink a lot of cold water and stay in the shade of the roof. We know the guys who work at the hotel next door and we sometimes share a snack in the afternoon. The plot is a good size for what we do, though it gets crowded when a new shipment arrives. We have to move things around constantly to make room for everything. It is just basic work, moving items and writing down numbers in our ledgers. We’ve been at this plot for a long time now.
