Divine Concrete Industry

Our yard is out on Raipur Road, right near Chunna Bhatta in Dehradun. Dealing with concrete isn't exactly the cleanest job in the world, but it is what we know how to do. There is always a bit of dust in the air and the sound of the mixers running in the background. We make the blocks and the mix that people need for building houses or putting up walls. It is heavy, tiring work most days. We usually start quite early before the sun gets too hot to handle. The yard is full of piles of gravel and trucks moving in and out all the time. If you are looking for us, just keep an eye out for the big piles of sand. We don't have a corporate office with fancy chairs or anything like that. There is just a small desk where we handle the orders and talk to the drivers. Sometimes the weather slows us down, especially when the rain hits Dehradun hard and the ground gets muddy. But we try to get the loads out as fast as the trucks can safely move. The neighbors know us by name since we have been here so long. We don't do much talking, mostly just pouring and loading. Sometimes the dust from the cement gets everywhere, even inside the office. You just get used to it after a few days. We keep a stack of old ledgers for the regulars who have been coming here since we first opened.
