The Rcok On Music Institute is right here in Garhi Cantt, Dehradun. If you know the area near Seven Oaks School, you probably passed by us without even noticing. We have been in this spot for a while now, tucked away in the Cantt area where it stays a bit quieter than the main city market. Inside, the rooms are filled with instruments that have seen better days, but they still sound okay when the students actually practice. Most days you can hear someone struggling with a guitar scale or hitting a drum kit through the walls. The Dehradun rain can get pretty loud on the roof, sometimes drowning out the keyboards entirely. We don't have fancy soundproofing or anything like that, just some old mats and curtains. People from around the neighborhood stop by, mostly parents dropping off their kids after school hours. It gets a bit cramped when there are more than five people in the lobby, but we make it work. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit there talking about old songs until the backup kicks in. It is a simple place where we just focus on getting the notes right.
