Ratra General Merchants

Ratra General Merchants is at Shop No-232 on Tea State Road in Prem Nagar. We are quite close to the State Bank of India, so people often stop in after they’ve finished their banking. Being a general merchant means we sell a bit of everything. It’s mostly stuff people need for their houses or daily lives. The shop is pretty packed from floor to ceiling. We have to use a ladder to get to the things on the top shelves. It’s been like this for years. The floor is a bit worn down from people walking in and out all day. Tea State Road is usually busy with scooters and cars, so there’s a constant hum of engines. We open early and stay open until the sun goes down. Sometimes we just sit on a stool by the entrance and watch the people go by. It’s a good way to see what’s happening in Prem Nagar. We don't use a lot of fancy technology here. We prefer the old way of doing things, talking to people and helping them find what they want. Sometimes we run out of something and have to wait for the next truck, but people are usually patient. It’s a friendly place. We know most of our customers by their names. It’s just a simple life running a shop in a busy part of town.
