Balaji Cosmetic & Gift Center

It is usually pretty crowded around Shop No-465 on Gurunanak Road. We are right in the middle of Subhash Nagar, and since Delhi Road is so close, there is always noise from the cars and rickshaws. Being near the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Mandir means we see a lot of people walking by, especially on certain days when they go to offer prayers. Balaji Cosmetic & Gift Center is a small place packed with stuff. We spend a lot of time just arranging things on the shelves so people can see what we have. The floor needs sweeping constantly because of the dust from Gurunanak Road. It’s a bit of a squeeze inside sometimes when more than three people come in at once. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just a couple of fans that hum all day. It gets loud with the temple bells and the traffic outside, but you get used to it after a while. Most of the neighbors know us by name. We open up the shutters every morning and start checking the stock. It’s a lot of small items to keep track of, so it keeps us busy. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the road for a bit, which causes a bit of a mess with the traffic. It’s just a normal shop in a busy part of Delhi, nothing more to it than that.
