Jouri Friends Natural Farmer Producer Company Limited is out in Vill Jasawali Tharet which is in the Datia area. We are based at Ravindra Singh’s place. The name says it all because we are mostly just friends from the village who wanted to do farming in a more natural way. We grew up here and we saw how things were changing so we thought why not try to keep it simple and clean. Datia is a nice place but you have to work hard to get anything out of the ground. We don't use a lot of the heavy stuff some other farms do. It is more about looking at the soil and seeing what it actually needs. Sometimes we meet under the trees to discuss what to plant next because the village doesn't have a big hall. It’s very quiet out here in Jasawali Tharet. We share tools and advice whenever someone is stuck. Being a producer company means we have to deal with more rules than we like but it helps us get our products to more people. We aren't experts in marketing or anything like that. We just know our land and our crops. It’s a group effort and everyone puts in what they can. Sometimes the rain doesn't come and sometimes it’s too much but that’s just how it is. We are just local farmers trying to do right by the land.
