Virat Tea

Virat Tea is located in Nayabazar, which is right in the heart of the Darjeeling district. If you know Nayabazar, you know it is one of those traditional markets where everything is a bit cramped but full of energy. We have been here for a long time, and our space is filled with the kind of stuff you’d expect in a tea business—bags, scales, and plenty of paperwork. It’s not a modern office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s a real, working shop where we handle the tea that comes in from the local area. Every morning starts about the same, opening up the shutters and seeing what needs to be done for the day. We get all sorts of people walking by, from locals doing their daily shopping to traders looking for specific batches. We don't spend money on big advertisements because people around here already know who we are and where to find us. We just try to be honest about what we have and get the work done without making a big scene. Some days the market is so crowded you can barely move, but that’s just life in Nayabazar. We like the connection to the local community and the fact that we are right where the action is. It’s a simple life, focused on tea and the daily grind of the market, and we are quite happy with that. We just do our bit every single day.
