Thakurjee Udyog Llp is based out of Siliguri, right in the Khalpara area on M R Road. We share the space with Sushil Kumar Agarwal at Tea Connoisseurs, who is well-known around here for knowing a lot about tea. Being in Darjiling district means we are right in the heart of tea country. West Bengal is famous for its tea, and we are glad to be a part of that. Our address is easy to find if you know Khalpara. The office is usually busy with people coming in and out. There’s always a kettle on because we’re constantly tasting different batches. It’s not a corporate office with cubicles. It’s more like a workshop. We have samples from all over the region spread out on the tables. Sometimes the rain in Siliguri makes things a bit damp, but we keep the tea dry. We aren't a huge operation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a small group of us who enjoy working with tea. We talk to the growers and the buyers and try to make everyone happy. It’s a lot of talking and a lot of drinking tea. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just want to keep the business running and stay part of the community here in Siliguri. It’s a good life if you like tea. Most days we are just busy with the paperwork and testing.
