Tea Leaf Production

Tea Leaf Production is located right by Darjeeling More, near the Matigara police station. If you know the area, you know it's a bit of a hub. We deal with tea leaves every single day. It’s what this region is known for, after all. We aren't a massive estate with thousands of employees. We are a smaller operation. The smell of the leaves is something you get used to, but it’s still nice in the mornings. We spend our time sorting and checking what comes in. It’s a lot of hands-on work. We don't have some high-tech lab. We use our eyes and our hands to see if the quality is what it should be. The weather in Darjeeling district can be tricky, with the mist and the rain, but we’ve learned to work with it. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic at the More, but that’s just how it goes. We’ve been here in Pradhan Nagar for a while now. We know the local shopkeepers and the transporters. It's a community thing. We don't put out advertisements or anything. Most people find us through word of mouth. We just keep our heads down and focus on the tea. It's honest work, and it keeps the lights on. We like the pace of things here, even when it gets hectic during the picking season. It is just the way things are done in our corner of the district.
