Sarita General Stores

I've been here at Sarita General Stores on A. P. C. Sarani for a while now. Most days I start around eight in the morning because the people in Deshbandhu Para like to get their stuff early before heading to work or taking the kids to school. It is not a very big place, just your typical shop where things are stacked up on shelves wherever they fit. Sometimes I have trouble finding where I put the smaller items, but usually, I know the layout by heart. Jalpaiguri weather can be a bit much, especially when it rains heavy and the road outside gets all muddy. The Bhaktinagar police station isn't too far away, so it feels like a safe enough spot to run a business. My brother helps out on the weekends when it gets a bit busier with families coming in for their weekly groceries. We have a lot of regular faces who stop by just to chat for five minutes while they buy some tea or soap. I don't really have a big staff, just me and occasionally someone else to move the heavy sacks around. It gets dusty in here sometimes because of the traffic on the main road, but that is just how it is. I spend a lot of time checking the inventory and writing things down in a notebook so I don't forget to restock the milk or the biscuits. It is a simple life and it keeps me busy.
