Pankaj Stores

Pankaj Stores is right on R. C. Mintri Road, which is the Main Road here in Darjeeling. Being on the Main Road means it stays pretty loud with all the traffic and people walking by all the time. Our shop is just a regular local store. We carry a bit of everything because that is what people in the district need. The weather here in Darjeeling can be a bit tricky, sometimes it is very foggy and you can barely see the shop across the street. We open up early and stay late most days. The shelves are packed pretty tight. We have been in this spot for a long time, so most of the locals know where we are. R. C. Mintri Road is always moving. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough room for all the stuff we have, so we have to move things around a lot. It is a bit of a climb to get up here if you are walking, but that’s Darjeeling for you. We don't have any fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just a place to buy what you need and move on. There is usually a bit of tea sitting around and some talk about the daily news. We keep things simple here. My hands are usually busy stocking or counting change. It’s not a big company, just our local store on the main road.
