Multifoods & Beverage is located right on the road that connects Jalpaiguri and Haldibari. We are in the Srirampara area. It is a good location because the big trucks have plenty of room to pull over when they bring us supplies. We don't just deal with tea, we handle all sorts of foods and drinks here. The road outside is always full of traffic heading toward the border. It gets incredibly green around here once the monsoon season starts. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or checking the crates in the back. The office is just a small corner with a couple of plastic chairs and a fan. We don't have air conditioning, so it gets a bit stuffy in the heat. Sometimes the power goes out for a few hours and we just have to wait it out. That is just part of living in this part of Bengal. We know all the neighbors and the shopkeepers around Srirampara. People often stop by just to see what is new. We do most of the loading ourselves into the small vans. It is hard work and you sweat a lot in the humidity. The tea comes from the gardens that are not too far from here. We don't have a big fancy sign or a polished showroom. Most people just walk around to the warehouse entrance. It is a family-run thing and we just try to keep things moving along simply.
