If you walk up Ladenla Road in Darjeeling, you'll find us on the 3rd floor of number 37. It's right in the middle of everything. Prakriti Pradhan is who you look for here. The stairs can be a bit of a climb if you're not used to the altitude. From the window, you can see the town moving below. It's often foggy outside, which is just how Darjeeling is most days. Merodarjeeling Organics is just a small team of us. We spend our days dealing with the paperwork for the organic side of things. It’s not a large corporate floor with glass walls and carpets. It feels more like a home office sometimes. We have old wooden floors that creak when you walk. When the sun comes out, it’s beautiful, but usually, it’s just cold enough to need a thick sweater. We get people popping in from the Pulbazar area too. The 734101 postcode is home for us. We drink a lot of local tea to stay warm and keep focused. Sometimes the internet is slow because of the weather, but we don't mind much. We just keep working through the list of tasks. It's a busy street outside with all the tourists, but up here it’s mostly just us and the sound of the traffic below. We have a few plants in the corner that don't get much sun. We've been in this building for a couple of years now and it's worked out okay for our small group.
