Koseli Tea

Koseli Tea is based out of Champasari, which is over in the Pradhan Nagar area of Darjeeling. Being in this part of the country, you can’t really escape the tea culture even if you tried. Our office is a simple place where we manage the business. We don’t have any corporate slogans or missions written on the walls. We just have shelves of tea and a few tables for working. The air here feels different than it does in the lower plains, and we think it helps with the tea somehow. We spend a lot of time coordinating with the people who pick the leaves and the ones who buy from us. It’s a lot of logistics, making sure things get from the garden to the customers without getting lost or ruined. Pradhan Nagar is a good spot for us, and we like the rhythm of life here. Some days are slow and quiet, especially when the mist rolls in, and other days we are rushing to get a shipment out. We don’t try to act like a big international company. We are just a local tea business in Darjeeling doing our best with what we have. We’ve built up some good relationships over the years, mostly by just being honest and showing up every day. It’s not always easy, but it’s a life we’ve chosen and we’re happy with it.
