Jayshree Tea Estate

Jayshree Tea Estate is located out in Khelma 7, in the Gumra area. It’s a lot different from being in the middle of a big city. Out here, we are surrounded by the actual tea bushes and the hills. The air is a bit fresher, though the work is much more physical. Khelma 7 is a local community where many families have been involved with tea for generations. We have our main office right on the estate, which is basically a simple building where we keep the farm logs and payroll. It’s a very practical place. There is always mud on the boots of whoever walks in, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. We spend most of our time outside, checking on the growth and making sure everything is moving along. The weather in Gumra can be unpredictable, with heavy rains that sometimes make the paths hard to walk on. We don’t have any high-tech gadgets or fancy boardrooms. It’s just us, the land, and the tea plants. We’ve been part of the Khelma 7 landscape for quite some time now. People around here know the Jayshree name just by walking past the estate gates. It’s a slow pace of life in some ways, but there is always something that needs to be done. We just keep our heads down and focus on the daily tasks of running this estate in Gumra.
