India Tea Commission

Our office is situated near the Shiv Mandir in Matigara, over in the New Rangia area of Darjeeling district. It’s a bit of a different vibe out here compared to the big cities. We’re right in the heart of tea country, so the business feels very connected to the land. The building isn't anything fancy, just a practical space where we handle the commission work. We see a lot of people coming in from the nearby gardens and estates. Most of the time, we’re busy with records and making sure everything is accounted for. It can get quite rainy here, being in the foothills, and sometimes the roads get a bit muddy. But that’s just part of living in Darjeeling. We don’t use any big words to describe what we do. It’s just about managing the tea flow and keeping things organized for everyone involved. The staff here grew up around these hills, so we understand the tea business from the ground up. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when things get busy during the picking seasons. We just take it one day at a time and try to stay helpful. It’s an honest way to make a living, and we’re proud to be out here in Matigara, doing our bit for the tea community. We've been around for years and hope to stay for many more, just keeping things moving steadily along. There's always more to do tomorrow.
