About Ess Ess Tea – Food & Beverages in Darjeeling
Milanpalli is where we are, right on Shiv Temple Road. We handle tea here at Ess Ess Tea. It's not a fancy office, just where we do our work. Mr. Debasish Ghatak manages the day-to-day things. We spend most of our hours sorting through different lots of tea that come in. The tea arrives in big sacks, we check it over, and then it goes back out to the shops. It’s a busy spot because of the temple nearby. Sometimes traffic gets backed up on the road, which makes it hard for the trucks to pull in. We've been here for a while now, so the locals know the routine. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. It’s mostly just us working through the piles. The weather gets very humid sometimes, which isn't great for the leaves, so we have to be careful about how we store everything. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and moving heavy bags around. We stay busy from early morning until the sun goes down. Most days are pretty much the same. We get a shipment, we organize it, and we make sure it’s ready for the next person. It’s a simple setup in a quiet part of the neighborhood. We’ve known the people living around here for years. Sometimes it's a bit dusty outside, but we keep the inside as clean as we can. That’s how we run things on Shiv Temple Road. Nothing too complicated, just a small local tea place doing its thing.
