Assam Tea Company

We are located right at Ganga Chowk on the Main Road. It’s a very busy intersection, so there is always noise from the rickshaws and the shops nearby. Assam Tea Company has been a fixture here for many years. Everyone in the neighborhood knows where we are. Our shop is simple, with bags of tea stacked up against the walls and a heavy wooden counter where we weigh everything out. We don't have fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just a place for people to get their tea and move on with their day. I took over the shop from my uncle, and not much has changed since then. We still use the same old scales, though they work just fine. We get our shipments in regularly, and the whole place smells like fresh leaves for a few days after. Sometimes the neighbors stop in just to say hello or to escape the heat for a minute. We don't do any big advertising campaigns. Word of mouth has always been enough for us. If someone likes the tea, they tell their cousins or their friends. We just try to be honest about what we have in stock and what the prices are. It’s a small, local business and we like keeping it that way, right here in the middle of the bustle at Ganga Chowk. The door is almost always open to catch whatever breeze we can get.
