Chikaladai Mata Mahila Kisan Producer Company Limited is based out of Village Binjam, which is over in the Geedam area of Dantewada. If you are looking for the office, it is at Rajendra Kumar Thakur’s place. We are mostly just a group of local women from around here who decided to get together and do something with our farming. It is pretty quiet in this part of Chhattisgarh, but there is always plenty of work to do in the fields. Some days are harder than others, especially when the weather does not go our way, but that is just how life is for farmers. We do not have any big corporate offices or anything fancy. It is just us working from a house in the village and trying to figure things out as we go. Most of the people here in Dantewada know each other, so news travels by word of mouth more than anything else. You will find us busy with the crops or talking about the next harvest. It is a simple setup because we do not need much else to get the job done. We just focus on what the women in our group are growing and how to make sure things move along properly. There is a lot of back and forth between the village and the main town, but Binjam is where the heart of it is. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily chores.
