Athgaonagro Farmer Producer Company Limited is based at Hemendra Singh’s place, number 1315 in Ludhiyatpura. We are in Ward No-6 in Rath. This isn't a big corporation with hundreds of people. It’s just us, the local farmers from the area. We spent most of our lives working in the dirt, and we decided that forming this company would help us stay afloat. Farming in Rath has its ups and downs. One day everything looks good, and the next day a storm can ruin everything. We meet up at the house and talk about our plans. We don't have any fancy documents or polished speeches. We just want to make sure we get a fair price for what we grow. It’s a lot of manual labor and a lot of waiting for things to grow. We help each other out with advice and sometimes with labor when someone is behind. This company is a way for us to be more than just individual farmers. It gives us a bit of a voice when we are dealing with the bigger markets. We don't have a marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on each other. It’s an honest way of living, and we are proud of what we do here in Ludhiyatpura. We are just regular people trying to do our best by the land and our families. It isn't always perfect, but we are trying our hardest to make it work for everyone involved.
