Damao Grand Jetty

Damao Grand Jetty is located right in Moti Daman. It is a spot where things are always moving, mostly because of the water. The address is just Moti, Daman, which sounds simple because it is. We are right there by the edge where the boats come in. The air always smells like salt and old wood. It is not a polished tourist destination with shiny railings. It is a working area where people come to get across or just to look at the sea. We have been at this location for a long time, watching the tide go in and out every day. The sun hits the jetty pretty hard in the afternoons, so we usually find some shade wherever we can. There are no big marketing teams here. It is just a few of us making sure everything is where it should be. People often ask us for directions to other parts of Daman, and we point them the right way. The ground is a bit uneven in places and the paint peels sometimes because of the sea spray. That is just how things are when you are this close to the ocean. We don't try to make it look like something it isn't. It is a jetty, and we are the people who look after it. It is a quiet life for the most part, except when the boats are busy.
