Suvidha Super Store

If you walk down the main road in Shirva, you can’t really miss us. We are right there near the bus stand. Suvidha Super Store is where we spend most of our waking hours. We stock a bit of everything because people in Udupi need all sorts of things throughout the week. It gets really crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work and jumping off the buses. The shelves are usually packed tight, sometimes a bit messy if we’ve had a big delivery. We aren't a big chain store with matching uniforms. It’s mostly family members and a couple of local guys helping out behind the counter. We know which milk people prefer and who likes which brand of soap. It's a lot of work keeping up with the inventory, and sometimes we run out of stuff before the next truck arrives. That’s just part of running a shop in a town like this. We try to keep the prices fair so people keep coming back. The floor needs a sweep pretty often because of all the feet walking in from the dusty road. We’ve been here for a good while now. The noise from the bus stand is something we don't even notice anymore. It's just the sound of the neighborhood. We are just a local store trying to keep the pantry shelves full for everyone around Shirva.
