Our workshop is out in the Balkampady Industrial Area in New Mangalore. Being at 437-C puts us right in the middle of all the noise and activity of the factories around here. We do a lot of engineering work, mostly building and fixing machines for packaging. It’s a big space with high ceilings and it gets quite hot in the summer months. You can usually hear the sound of welding or metal cutting from the street. We aren't a big firm. It’s just a group of us who know our way around a lathe and a mill. We take on jobs that require a bit of custom work, which means we spend a lot of time scratching our heads over blueprints. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by the end of the shift. We have a small office tucked in the corner where we handle the billing and the phone calls. Most of the people who come to see us are looking for parts they can't find anywhere else. We have been in Mangalore for years and we like being part of the local industry. It’s honest work and we don't try to make it sound like more than it is. We just make sure the machines run like they are supposed to. Sometimes we have to stay late when a client has a breakdown, but that is just part of the job.
