Town Down Hotel

Town Down Hotel is located at Gopalpur Chawlk in Cuttack, right near the Tool Gate. If you’ve ever driven through this area, you know how busy it gets with all the trucks and cars passing through the gate. We set up the hotel here because it’s a convenient spot for people who are tired of driving and need a place to stay. The hotel is a basic building. We don’t have any of those luxury amenities you might find in the bigger cities. Our rooms are simple and we try to keep them clean, which is a bit of a challenge with all the road dust. We have a small staff of local people who help with the cleaning and the front desk. It’s a lot of work keeping things running twenty-four hours a day since people arrive at all odd hours. We don't have a fancy restaurant, but there are plenty of places nearby to eat. We mostly focus on providing a bed and a working fan. The noise from the Tool Gate is something you eventually stop noticing after a while. We see a lot of different faces every day, mostly people on their way to somewhere else. We’ve been at Gopalpur Chawlk for several years and have become a part of the landscape here. It’s an honest, no-frills kind of place. We just open the doors every morning and take things as they come.
