The Das Tutorial

We’ve been here in Rajendranagar for a while now. Most people around Madhupatna know where we are, tucked away in Newcolony. It’s a busy part of Cuttack, especially in the evenings when the street lights come on and everyone is out on the roads. Our space isn't fancy at all. There are wooden benches and whiteboards that have seen better days. You can hear the hum of the ceiling fans and the distant noise of the traffic from the main road all day long. Students come in around four or five in the afternoon. They leave their cycles outside in a big messy pile, and sometimes they're chatting so loud we have to tell them to settle down so we can start. It gets quite hot here in the summer, so we keep all the windows open, even if it lets in a bit of dust from the street. We spend a lot of time just sitting with books, going over things one by one. It’s just how things work here at The Das Tutorial. Sometimes parents drop by to check on how their kids are doing, and we just talk to them right there at the door. There’s no big reception desk or anything like that. It’s just a few rooms where we try to get through the syllabus. Cuttack is a crowded place, but this corner of Rajendranagar feels like home to us. We just keep our heads down and do the work every day.
