Surya Plastics

Being on N. S. Road here in Jaigaon means we deal with a lot of noise and traffic all day long. This part of Alipurduar gets pretty busy since we are so close to the border area. At Surya Plastics, we just focus on getting through the day and making sure we have what the locals are asking for. It’s mostly plastic household stuff and some industrial items. The shop gets a bit cramped when new stock arrives, and we have to move things around just to find a place to stand. My brother and I run the place usually. The rain in this part of West Bengal can be a real headache, especially when we’re trying to keep the entrance dry and the products from getting muddy. We don’t have any big corporate office or anything like that, just this one shop on the main road. Customers come in, ask for a price, and we talk. Some of them have been coming to us since we first opened years ago. We don't spend money on big signs or ads. Word of mouth is how people find us. It’s a bit of a grind, especially in the humid months, but it’s our living. We keep the ledger by hand and try to stay on top of the orders. It’s not a perfect system, but it works for us and the people in Jaigaon who need simple plastic goods for their homes and shops.
