Vettri Ice Cream Shop

Started this little place at 84, Avinashi Road. It is right near the Hope College Bus Stand so we get a lot of people waiting for their buses. Most days it is pretty busy because of the traffic outside. We just keep the freezers running and hope for no power cuts. It gets dusty with all the vehicles passing by but we try to keep the glass clean. My brother and I usually handle the afternoon rush when students come out. It is not a very big shop but it does the job. Sometimes the bus drivers stop by for a quick cup if they have a minute. We have been here for a good while now and most regulars know us by name. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun but everyone knows where we are. We keep the stock simple. Nothing too fancy, just what people like to eat when they are tired from traveling. The noise from the main road never really stops until late at night. Sometimes the fridge makes a loud humming sound that we need to get fixed. It’s just a normal daily routine for us here. We open up early to get things ready before the heat starts. It’s a lot of work keeping things frozen in this weather but we manage somehow. People seem happy to find a cold spot near the bus stand. We close up when the last few buses leave and the street gets a bit quieter for the night.
