Vegas Gents Beauty Parlour

The shop is up on the first floor on Mettupalayam Road, right near that Poomarket Bus Stop. If you know the area in R S Puram, you know it gets pretty busy with all the buses and people moving around. We’ve been here for a bit now, just doing regular haircuts and shaves for the men who live around here or work nearby. The sign says Vegas Gents Beauty Parlour, which sounds fancy, but it’s really just a straightforward place with some chairs and mirrors. Sometimes the fan makes a bit of noise, but it keeps the place cool enough when the sun is hitting the windows in the afternoon. We have the Old No 950 address, but now they call it New No 519. It gets a bit confusing for people sometimes if they are looking for the exact number on the door. Usually, people just look for the bus stop and then see us upstairs. We start early in the morning and stay open until the evening rush is over. It’s mostly just us cutting hair and chatting about whatever is in the news or what’s happening on the street downstairs. We keep a few magazines around, though most guys just look at their phones while waiting. It is nothing too complicated here, just a local spot to get cleaned up. We try to keep the floor swept, but with the wind blowing in from the road, some dust always finds its way inside.
