We are based at No 59K R Mills. Most people in the area know the mills, so it’s not too hard to find us once you get close. We operate as the Vedubuild Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center. It’s basically a place where we get together to work on medical research and do some teaching. The building has been around for a bit and it feels like it. We’ve got a few rooms set up for different studies and a lot of papers piled up on the desks. It isn't a very fancy setup, but it gets the job done for the scientists and students who spend their time here. Most mornings start with someone making tea and checking the schedules for the day. Sometimes the power goes out or the internet is slow, but that’s just how things go around here. We spend a lot of time looking at medical data and trying to figure things out. People drop in and out throughout the week. It’s mostly just a group of us working hard on medical science stuff without making a big deal about it. We have some basic lab equipment and a small library area that’s always a bit dusty. It’s a quiet enough place to work, even with the noise from the street nearby. We’ve been here at the mills for a while and we’ve gotten used to the way the building sounds when the wind blows. It's just home for us.
