Valarmathi Saloon

This saloon is located at number 21 A/29 on Nallampalayam Road. We are in the Ganapathy area of Coimbatore, specifically in Sakthy Nagar. It is a quiet enough street compared to the main city center, but there are still plenty of people walking around. The shop is small and it sits right on the ground floor so you can see inside from the road. I usually have the door open to let some air in. Inside, there are the usual barber chairs and a bench for people to sit while they wait. We have been here for a long time and the neighborhood has grown up around us. Most of the men in Sakthy Nagar come here for their shaves and cuts. I keep the floor swept, though hair gets everywhere by noon. It’s a very basic setup with a few mirrors and some basic hair products on the shelf. The light comes in from the front window in the mornings which is nice. Coimbatore can be humid, so we keep the water running and the fans going. It is a steady life here on Nallampalayam Road. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the name on the front and the sound of the clippers. It is a simple place for local people to come by and get things done.
