The Covai Saloon

It’s just a small place here on 2nd Street in Gandhipuram. We are quite close to J Hospital, so there is always a bit of noise from the road and people walking by. The shop isn't anything fancy, just a regular spot for a haircut or a quick shave. Most of the people who come in live around here or work nearby. We’ve got the usual chairs and mirrors that have been here for a while. Sometimes the traffic gets a bit much, especially during the afternoons when everyone is out. Coimbatore weather stays pretty warm, so the fans are always running inside to keep things cool for whoever is sitting in the chair. It is easy to find us if you know where the hospital is. We open up in the morning, sweep the floor, and get things ready for the day. There is no big sign or anything flashy, just the name The Covai Saloon on the front. Sometimes it’s busy and sometimes we just sit and watch the street. It’s a simple life running a shop in this part of town. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but the street stays mostly the same. 344 is the door number if you are looking for it. The building has been painted a few times but the inside stays familiar to anyone who has been coming here for years. It’s just how things are around here in Gandhipuram. Nothing more, nothing less.
